1/21/2015 0 Comments Review | W7 In The Buff PaletteBoth Natural lighting Both With Flash Above Natural Lighting Below (both) Flash So first let me start off by telling you that this W7 palette is a well known dupe for Urban Decays Naked2 palette. They have three other palettes in this collection, two of which are dupes for UD Naked (Lightly Toasted) & UD Naked3 (In The Nude) palettes, as well as a purple toned palette (In the Night). I want them all! Before I go into the shadows themselves, I just want to point out that the palette itself is a metal one, that is very sturdy & has a nice tight seal/click closure. The letters on the front of the palette are slightly raised, the colours are all named on the back of the palette and it also contains a double ended brush. As for the brush, I have not used it yet. It has a sponge applicator on one end (I'm not really a fan of them) but on the other end there is a flat shader brush that is soft and has firm/sturdy bristles; so it appears that it would help to pack on colour. Now, for the shadows! First impression of these is great, love the range of colour as well as the finishes. Note: there was no primer used with these swatches. With the exception of the first colour, all were swatched by lightly rubbing my finger in them 6x; the first was 12x. This may sound super dramatic and was probably unnecessary but the first colour was a bit harder to show so I wanted to give the best pay off for the swatches. This was only required for arm swatches, when using them on the lids you need only the lightest touch of most colours. The lighter/shimmery colours need a little more packing on but still show up well. The name of the colours as mentioned, are on the back of the palette, left to right: Buff, Camel, Sand, Dust, Chocolate, Topaz, Earth, Storm, Silk, Wave, Thunder & Onyx. I've done three separate looks with this palette this month, trying to test out each colour and I've been impressed with all that I've used. My favourites so far are: Dust, Chocolate & Wave, but a few other colours I've liked are Camel, Sand & Silk. I will be incorporating this palette in future makeup tutorials so be sure to check out my YouTube Channel for those! Now if you live in Europe and Downunder (Aus/NZ) you won't have a huge problem finding these palettes. The W7 website listed a number of distributors and stockist for purchasing and lists each palette as £9.99 (but as I mentioned I've seen them cheaper). Unfortunately, I have yet to find somewhere to purchase online, except Ebay, but I'm a little sketchy about buying them there incase they're fakes. So I may have to send my cousin on the hunt for these! (Or if I happen to have any UK readers, maybe we can figure something out!) But I say for sure to pick these up if you don't own the Urban Decay palettes. I've wanted them but could never justify the money, so this is the best of both worlds. Another brand that does good dupes of UD's Naked collection is Makeup Revolution, so if you see their Iconic palettes they would work as well! Let me know if you've tried any W7 products, I'd love to hear your thoughts & if you have any makeup tutorial requests be sure to leave those below or you can send them my way on Twitter, IG or FB xo W7's website banner for the palettes (site)
